Judge Dana A. Gutierrez is a daughter of Guam. Upon her graduation from the Academy of Our Lady of Guam, she attended the University of Southern California in Los Angeles where she earned her Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and East Asian Area Studies. She remained in Los Angeles and earned her Juris Doctorate from the University of Southern California Gould School of Law.
Before her appointment, Judge Gutierrez worked in both the private and public sectors in Guam, including serving as the Judiciary of Guam’s Director of Policy, Planning and Community Relations. She has more than 20 years of experience in private practice, in the areas of labor and employment law, business planning, corporate governance, and regulatory compliance. She was a frequent presenter on employment issues for the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM) Guam Chapter, and has served on the SHRM Guam Chapter Board of Directors. Judge Gutierrez has also served on the Guam Bar Association Board of Governors, the Guam Law Library Board of Trustees, the Guam Girl Scouts Board of Directors, and the Guam Solid Waste Authority Board of Directors.
Judge Gutierrez currently serves as the Co-Chairperson of the Judiciary of Guam Strategic Plan Pillar of Justice I: Improving Court Operations and Services; Chairperson of the Subcommittee on Juvenile Referral and Detention; Co-Chairperson of the Subcommittee to Revise the Protective Order Rules; and as Co-Chairperson of the Subcommittee on Rules of Civil Procedure.
